Are you a good NETIZEN ?
Introduction
The term Netizen, coined in the early 1990's, is a mixture of the words "internet" and "citizen", refers to a person who actively uses and participates in the internet and often involves in online communities and other activities.
A Good Netizen
- Installs the updated antivirus software
- Is cautious while using their password online
- Considers how his/her words and shared content affects other people
- Shares accurate information and does not spread misinformation
- Always gives credits to the person when using other people's content
- Refrains from engaging in online harassment, hate speech, or any form of bullying
- Engages in respectful and constructive discussions, even when they are against it
- Does not share personal information of others without their permission
- Keeps their passwords private and uses password managers to protect their accounts
- Thinks twice before clicking on links
- Reports it to the platform administrators, if witnesses any illegal activity
- Engages with people from different backgrounds and cultures with empathy and an open mind
Conclusion
The citizens of the internet, netizens, play a important rule in developing the civilization in today's date. Netizens who are now using the internet widely and actively should also follow netiquette to be safe and secure.
"We should be netizens who emphasize on respect and think about others before our actions on the internet."
